Dharmendra Pradhan ropes in IITs to fix CBSE re-evaluation portal glitches
Dharmendra Pradhan has asked IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur experts to help CBSE fix technical issues on its post-result services portal. The intervention is aimed at ensuring a smooth and transparent re-evaluation process for the students.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has directed a team of professors and technical experts from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur to support the CBSE in fixing technical issues and ensuring a glitch-free re-evaluation process for students.
The decision follows reports of technical challenges on CBSE’s post-examination services portal, which students use for answer sheet verification, marks rechecking and re-evaluation after board results are announced.
IIT MADRAS AND IIT KANPUR TEAMS TO REVIEW PORTAL PERFORMANCE
According to the Ministry, the expert teams from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur will examine several technical aspects of the system and suggest improvements.
The team will focus on:
Portal stability and server performance
Overall IT infrastructure strength
Login authentication systems
User access mechanisms
Payment gateway functioning
The experts will also help CBSE take corrective measures where necessary.
Dharmendra Pradhan said student interests remain the priority and directed CBSE to undertake corrective measures on an urgent basis.
CBSE RESULTS CONTROVERSY
After the CBSE Class 12 results were declared on May 13, several students and parents raised concerns over marks awarded in some subjects, with many expressing doubts about whether their answer sheets had been evaluated correctly under the Board’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.
Two days later, on May 15, CBSE announced revised post-result procedures, allowing students to first obtain scanned copies of their evaluated answer books before applying for verification of marks or re-evaluation.
The application window for obtaining scanned copies opened on May 19. However, following reports of technical issues and heavy traffic on the portal, CBSE extended the deadline twice, eventually pushing it to May 26.
The intervention is expected to improve the functioning of the post-result portal and reduce technical issues during the re-evaluation period.
This could help students complete applications for verification and rechecking more smoothly during high-demand periods following board exam results.
