K-pop group CORTIS sharpens focus with REDRED ahead of GREENGREEN
K-pop group CORTIS, under BigHit Music, revealed REDRED as a pre-release track for their second project, GREENGREEN. The track highlights their evolving sound and hands-on involvement in production.

K-pop group CORTIS, the third group under BigHit Music after BTS and TXT, is stepping into a more defined phase of its career with REDRED, a pre-release track from its upcoming second EP (extended play - a mini album of sorts) GREENGREEN. The album is scheduled to release on May 4.
The five-member act including Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon and Keonho, unveiled the song at a media showcase in Seoul, describing it as a reflection of their current artistic direction. The track revolves around a simple but striking idea: “red versus green.”
Through this contrast, the group explores what they choose to embrace and what they consciously avoid, both in sound and messaging. At the press conference in Seoul, member Juhoon shared that the concept developed naturally during the songwriting process.
Sonically, REDRED builds on CORTIS’ hip-hop foundation while leaning into a more repetitive, hook-driven style. With its sharp electronic textures and looping structure, the track is designed for instant recall, aligning with the growing influence of short-form content platforms.
A key part of the group’s identity is its hands-on approach. Much like their debut, the members were involved in multiple aspects of the project, including songwriting, production, choreography and visual planning. Seonghyeon noted that the album reflects their personal taste and creative standards.
CORTIS’ commercial growth remains notable. Their debut EP crossed 2 million in cumulative sales, while GREENGREEN has already reached similar numbers in pre-orders.
Despite the strong figures, the group says its focus is on authenticity. “We think about whether the music feels like us,” Martin said.
