Soon after the teaser dropped, several viewers said the visuals reminded them of the film, with some adding that the male lead looked similar to Ahaan Panday's character, Krish Kapoor.
The promo shows a rockstar on stage with a guitar in his hand as the crowd cheers for him. At the same time, the female lead, dressed in a yellow saree, watches him from backstage and then walks away, while he tries to stop her from a distance. The actors' faces were not revealed in the clip, but the overall look quickly set off chatter online, with many viewers saying it was giving full Saiyaara energy.

Several social media users pointed to the similarity soon after the promo was released.
One user wrote, "It's giving Saiyaara vibe (sic)." Another wrote, "We're copying Saiyaara now? (sic)" A third said, "I think leads is Harshad Chopra and Jennifer Winget..... But it's look like Saiyaara (sic)." One more user wrote, "The male lead is looking like Krish Kapoor from Saiyaara (sic)." The makers have not yet revealed the lead actors of Sairaab, but viewers have already started guessing who could front the show. Many asked the makers to cast Harshad Chopra and Jennifer Winget, whose pairing in Bepannah had earlier drawn a strong response. Some others felt the promo could be hinting at Amaal Mallik and Tanya Mittal, who had created buzz around their chemistry in Bigg Boss 19.
