DK Shivakumar, Siddaramaiah meet Congress high command over Karnataka cabinet

Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony in Karnataka, DK Shivakumar, Siddaramaiah met with the Congress high command in Delhi to finalise the list of cabinet ministers. Around ten to twelve ministers are expected to take the oath initially on June 3, with a full-fledged cabinet expansion planned for a later stage. The discussions also focus on selecting a new state party president, as the incumbent has been elevated to the chief ministerial post. With rival camps strongly pushing for their respective loyalists to be inducted into the cabinet, the high command faces the challenging task of accommodating candidates from both sides before making an official announcement.
