Fire breaks out in Charminar Express coach near Telangana station
A fire was reported in the S5 coach of the Charminar Express within Aler Railway Station limits in Alair. Further details are awaited as officials have yet to confirm the incident.

A brief fire scare was reported on board the Charminar Express in Telangana’s Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district on Saturday evening after smoke and sparks were noticed in one of the coaches near Alair railway station.
According to railway officials, Train No. 12760 Hyderabad–Tambaram Charminar Express, which had departed Hyderabad on April 25, was halted at Alair station at around 7.47 pm after passengers and staff observed smoke emanating from the S5 coach.
Initial reports suggested a possible fire in the coach, triggering concern among passengers. However, officials later clarified that the incident was caused by brake binding – a mechanical issue that can generate heat, leading to smoke and sparks near the wheels.
Railway staff on board and at the station responded promptly and managed to extinguish the smoke before it could escalate. The affected coach was inspected, and necessary safety checks were carried out.
Authorities confirmed that there was no fire inside the coach, and no injuries or damage to property were reported in the incident.
After a brief halt of over 20 minutes, the train resumed its journey at around 8.10 pm towards its destination, Tambaram.
Railway officials said the situation was brought under control swiftly and that there was no threat to passenger safety. Further routine checks are expected as part of standard protocol.
