Karnataka withdraws 2022 uniform order
In a major reversal of the controversial 2022 hijab policy, the Karnataka government formally withdrew its earlier uniform order with immediate effect.
As Sachin Pilot questioned Ashok Gehlot's claims of having the support of 102 MLAs, the latter let some media cameras inside his residence to show the strength of MLAs. The visuals showed Ashok Gehlot, KC Venugopal, Ajay Maken, Randeep Surjewala, and others sitting in a compound with other MLAs. As the cameras were called in, all the MLAs waved the victory sign.
Speaking to Aajtak, Sachin Pilot said, "Ashok Gehlot's claims to have the support of 102 MLAs is wrong. 25 MLAs are sitting with me. We are not going to Jaipur to attend the legislative party meeting."
Pilot's reaction comes soon after Congress said it has invited Pilot for discussions to end the unfolding crisis in the state. "The doors of the Congress were, are, and will be open for Sachin Pilot to come and hold discussions," Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said on Monday.
