India Today’s Vasant More is reporting from the site where a chartered aircraft crashed while attempting to land in Baramati, killing Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and four others.
Visuals from the scene show charred wreckage strewn across the crash site, with flames and thick smoke still rising hours after the incident. Emergency responders and police were seen working amid intense heat and debris.
According to officials, the aircraft went down during the landing attempt, triggering a massive fire on impact. Ajit Pawar was among the five fatalities.
