Meet the man behind Cockroach Janta Party

In an exclusive interview with India Today, Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, discusses the growth of his political movement following remarks made by the Chief Justice of India on unemployed youth. Dipke explains that the party was launched as a response to the Chief Justice likening unemployed youth to cockroaches. He states, "Someone who is there to safeguard our freedom of expression is comparing us with cockroaches and parasites for just putting up our opinion." Dipke points out the frustration among India's youth regarding unemployment and their exclusion from mainstream political discourse. He mentions the need for institutional independence, noting that the alignment of institutions with the ruling party poses a threat to democracy. Addressing his past association with the Aam Aadmi Party, Dipke clarifies his focus on health and education models before moving to Boston University for higher studies. He notes that the current generation is capable and plans to protest peacefully within their constitutional rights to demand accountability from the government.
