Monsoon Mayhem: Cloudburst strikes J-K, heavy rain in Maharashtra's Vidarbha

With rains still inundating the northern parts of the country, a cloudburst struck Kota Nullah in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district on Saturday morning, causing significant damage to the Doda-Kishtwar road and leading to a flood-like situation in the area on Sunday. Meanwhile, in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, heavy rains in the past 10 days resulted in at least 16 fatalities in rain-related incidents. Nearly 4,500 houses were also damaged due to the incessant downpours, according to officials' reports on Sunday. In Karnataka, particularly in Chikamagalur, heavy rainfall was observed. Additionally, the water level in the Godavari River, which had previously receded, surged once again, prompting concerns over potential flooding.
