President Droupadi Murmu Hails Operation Sindoor Success On India's 77th Republic Day

On India's 77th Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu addressed the nation, highlighting the strategic success of the military. She stated that 'the operation struck terror infrastructure in Pakistan, destroyed terror hubs, and eliminated terrorists,' referring to Operation Sindoor as a testament to India's growing self-reliance in defence. The celebrations at Kartavya Path featured European Commission Chief Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa as chief guests. The parade showcased India's military might through a phased battle array format, including the S-400 air defence system and a seven-jet flypast. The central theme, '150 years of Vande Mataram,' was complemented by 30 tableaux and the first-ever march of the army's animal contingent featuring Zanskar ponies and camels. President Murmu also emphasised the pivotal role of women, noting that they constitute 46% of Panchayati Raj representatives and are breaking barriers from fields to space. The event served as a strategic message of India's combat capabilities and inclusive growth.
