Video: PM Modi receives grand welcome in UAE- his first stop of 5-nation tour

Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his five-nation tour with a brief four-hour stop in Abu Dhabi on Friday, where he received a grand ceremonial welcome from the top UAE leadership. Upon entering Emirati airspace, his aircraft was escorted by the UAE F-16 fighter jets, a gesture Modi described as an honour for the people of India.

At the airport, he was accorded a guard of honour before being welcomed by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. During delegation-level talks, PM Modi thanked the UAE leadership for the warm reception and said visiting the country felt like coming to his "second home". He said the sentiment reflected the deep ties between India and the United Arab Emirates.

The PM also strongly condemned attacks targeting the UAE amid the ongoing regional conflict, reaffirming India’s solidarity. The visit underscored the strategic partnership and close personal rapport between the two leaders today.
