Tamil Nadu CM writes to President Kovind seeking release of Rajiv Gandhi assassination case convicts

Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin has written to President of India, Ramnath Kovind, seeking early release of Nalini, Murugan, Santhan, Perarivalan, Jayakumar, Robert Payas and Ravichandran, who were convicted for the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

CM Stalin stated that Nalini's original death sentence was commuted under Article 161 and Supreme Court commuted the death sentence of the other three convicts to life imprisonment.
