Was not violating Section 144, my detention was completely illegal: Ramachandra Guha

Historian Ramachandra Guha, who was detained near Town Hall in Bengaluru on Thursday during a protest against amended citizenship law, said that he has not violated Section 144 and his detention was completely illegal.

Talking about the detention, he said, "Let me tell you, I was not violating Section 144. Before this incident, several policemen have asked about the townhall and a policeman looked at us and I said we were four of us. We are not violating any section. Then, I went off alone so what they did to me was completely illegal."

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders.
