Indian diplomats had been whispering more than six months ago that there was some sort of 'intelligence alliance' between the US and China, but they were not taken seriously. It has now been revealed that over a year ago the Chinese installed American-supplied electronic monitoring stations through which the two countries have exchanged sensitive data on the Soviet Union.
