Stupas assembled from stainless-steel utensils, soaring Doric columns composed of ceramic shards, a Greek theatre mask super-sized and rendered in brass—everything about Subodh Gupta’s newest exhibition is larger than life. Spread over four floors of the Art House at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai, Ek Mutthi Aasman (A Fistful of Sky) brings together large-scale installations, new commissions and standout works from the celebrated artist’s career. “From my first conversations with Subodh, we wanted to respond to NMACC’s unique vertical architecture and to create a living experience,” says curator Clare Lilley. “Each floor functions as an act in a play, unfolding evocatively as you ascend, to build an intimate and deep exploration of the human condition.”
