Mouni Roy, businessman Suraj Nambiar announce separation after 4 years of marriage

Actor Mouni Roy on Thursday confirmed her separation from husband Suraj Nambiar amid ongoing speculation surrounding their marriage.

In a joint statement shared on social media, Mouni expressed disappointment over the “unnecessary and intrusive attention” on their personal lives and revealed that they had decided to part ways..

“We note with dismay the unnecessary and intrusive attention into our personal lives by certain quarters of the media,” the statement read.

The actor further added, “We would like to state that we have decided to part ways and are taking the necessary time to address matters privately and amicably.”

Mouni also appealed to fans and media outlets to respect their privacy and avoid spreading false narratives about either of them during this time.

Speculation surrounding the couple’s marriage intensified on Tuesday after several social media users claimed that Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar had unfollowed each other on Instagram. The rumours gained further traction later in the day when some users noticed that Suraj’s Instagram account appeared to be unavailable.

Mouni and Suraj’s relationship

Mouni Roy got married with Suraj Nambiar in Goa on January 27, 2022. The wedding festivities included haldi and sangeet ceremonies, followed by both a traditional Malayali wedding and a Bengali ceremony. The celebrations concluded with a post-wedding pool party. Suraj, a Bengaluru-based businessman and investment banker, was reportedly residing in Dubai before his marriage to Mouni.

Over the years, the couple often offered fans glimpses into their relationship through social media posts featuring holidays, dinner dates and festive celebrations.

Mouni rose to fame with television shows such as Kasturi, Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev and Naagin.
