Mouni Roy stuns in chic monochrome look at Cannes 2026 amid Suraj Nambiar split

Actor Mouni Roy made a stylish appearance at the Cannes Film Festival 2026 as she arrived at the French Riviera for the showcase of her upcoming film Bombay Stories at the prestigious Marche du Film. Her appearance comes days after she announced her separation from husband Suraj Nambiar.

Joining her at the event was co-star Anupria Goenka. Mouni’s elegant monochrome look quickly caught the attention of fashion enthusiasts online.

For her appearance at Cannes this year, Mouni opted for a sophisticated black mini dress featuring a striking white halter-style collar detail. The fitted silhouette added a sharp and polished touch to her overall look while maintaining a minimal aesthetic.

She paired the outfit with an oversized black coat casually draped over her shoulders, adding a layer of glamour to the ensemble. The actor completed her look with sheer black stockings and pointed leather boots.

Directed by Rahhat Shah Kazmi, Bombay Stories is inspired by Hatak, one of the most celebrated short stories written by Saadat Hasan Manto.

The independent film explores the lives of sex workers through a satirical and humane lens. Along with Mouni Roy and Anupria Goenka, the film also stars Sushmita Singh in a key role.

With its presentation at Cannes’ Marche du Film, the makers are aiming to introduce the project to international audiences and the global film market.

MOUNI ROY AND SURAJ NAMBIAR ANNOUNCE SEPARATION

Mouni’s Cannes appearance comes days after she and husband Suraj Nambiar officially announced their separation after four years of marriage.

In a joint statement shared on Instagram on May 14, the former couple requested privacy and urged people not to spread false narratives about their relationship.

“We note with dismay the unnecessary and intrusive attention into our personal lives by certain quarters of the media (sic),” the statement read.

The actor further added, “We would like to state that we have decided to part ways and are taking the necessary time to address matters privately and amicably (sic).”

The statement also appealed to fans and media outlets to respect their privacy during this period.
