Kejriwal's dance to deleted photos: Singer-priest recalls Raghav-Parineeti wedding
Vedic priest Ankit Batra shared new details from Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha's Udaipur wedding. He revealed that Arvind Kejriwal danced in the baraat, while Madhu Chopra was asked to delete pictures from her phone.

Actor Parineeti Chopra and politician Raghav Chadha’s tightly guarded Udaipur wedding has received a fresh retelling from singer and Vedic priest Ankit Batra. He revealed that former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal danced in the baraat and carried the groom on his shoulders. Priyanka Chopra’s mother, Madhu, on the other hand, was asked to delete pictures taken on her phone.
Batra, who conducted the wedding rituals, shared the details in the premiere episode of his YouTube channel, Voice of Vows. He described the September 2023 wedding at The Leela Palace Udaipur as a private affair with unusually strict security.
Strict security at the venue
Recalling the wedding day, Batra said the heavy security stood out because paparazzi were trying to follow the ceremony from every possible point. “The wedding day at the Leela Palace, Udaipur. The security was insane. Paparazzi from every other outlet were tracking every move,” he recalled.
He recalled being on the same flight as Parineeti and Raghav when they travelled to Udaipur for the wedding, and added that the groom’s procession arrived at the venue on boats. He said, “I was in the same flight in which Raghav ji and Parineeti ji travelled for their wedding to Udaipur. They were the first ones to come out and then we all followed. The baraat came from Taj hotel across the water on boats.”
Batra said the venue looked grand, but functioned like a sealed space. “It was majestic but inside it was a fortress. No photos, no videos. Even Priyanka Chopra’s mom was asked to delete photos she had taken on her phone. That’s how serious they were about the sanctity of the wedding. We conducted the pheras in exactly one hour and 20 minutes. It wasn’t just chanting, it was a conversation,” he added.
Political leaders in the baraat
Batra also recalled Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal joining the celebrations. He said both were actively involved in the baraat. He said they weren’t just guests but like family and danced while carrying Raghav on their shoulders.
He also recalled Parineeti's surprise for Raghav during her entry. “She entered to a song she had recorded herself specifically for Raghav ji. It was a surprise for him too,” he shared.
Emotional ceremony
Speaking about the rituals, Batra said the jaimala and pheras were emotional for those present, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
After the ceremony, he said several guests came up to him to speak about the rituals and said that this was the first time they actually understood the meaning behind pheras.
Parineeti and Raghav got married on September 24, 2023. The couple later welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Neer, on October 19, 2025.
