Ranbir Kapoor has purchased a piece of land in Ayodhya's The Sarayu project, adding to the growing celebrity interest in the temple town as he gears up for his next film, Ramayana.

Ranbir Kapoor has purchased a land parcel in Ayodhya at a premium plotted development by The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), the real estate company announced on Thursday.

According to an official statement, the transaction is valued at around Rs 3.31 crore for a 2,134 sq ft land parcel. The plot is part of The Sarayu, a 75-acre plotted project located along the banks of the Sarayu river.

Speaking about the investment, Kapoor said, “I believe Ayodhya has chosen me, and I have just answered this calling. Ayodhya is deeply rooted in our history and is a critical part of our cultural fabric. This land at The Sarayu became my gateway to ensuring this becomes a part of my legacy for my family.”

Other investments in Ayodhya

Apart from Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan has bought four properties in Ayodhya. According to a Hindustan Times report, in 2025, the veteran actor purchased a 25,000 square feet plot in the city for Rs 40 crore. He has also invested Rs 14.5 crore in The Sarayu project and acquired a 54,000 square feet plot that was registered under the name of his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s trust.

Work front

On the work front, Kapoor will next be seen as Lord Rama in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. The first part of the film is set to release on Diwali 2026. He also has Love & War, alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. The film is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
