A video of Ranveer Singh questioning Sadhguru about the purpose of life is going viral on social media. While the video is original, the timing is not.

Actor Ranveer Singh has found himself at the centre of one of Bollywood's messiest industry standoffs in recent years. Days after the controversy around his abrupt exit from Don 3 escalated into a formal non-cooperation directive by Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), the actor was seen seeking answers of a very different kind from spiritual leader Sadhguru.

In a video shared by Sadhguru's official Instagram handle, Ranveer appeared reflective and unusually subdued as he spoke about a question that, according to him, flooded social media after he announced the meeting. "Yesterday I put a tweet out saying I am meeting Sadhguru ji tomorrow. What should I ask him? And 80 per cent was, what is the purpose of life?" the actor said in the clip.

Sadhguru's response was philosophical, and strikingly blunt. "When you ask what is the purpose of life, essentially you are asking what is the use of life," he said, adding that life exists beyond "logical calculations" about utility or purpose. "There is no purpose Life is a bigger phenomenon than your intellect," he told the actor.

The timing of the interaction has inevitably drawn attention. Ranveer's spiritual conversation surfaced just as the fallout from his departure from Don 3 continues to intensify behind the scenes.

FWICE's directive for Ranveer Singh

FWICE issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor earlier this week, alleging that he failed to respond to repeated requests to appear before the body and explain his sudden exit from the film. The development effectively restricts member technicians and workers affiliated with the federation from collaborating with him.

Meanwhile, Excel Entertainment, the banner backing Don 3, has reportedly sought Rs 45 crore in compensation from the actor, citing losses incurred during the film's pre-production stage before his departure.

While industry disputes in Bollywood are hardly new, the scale of the Don 3 fallout has turned the matter into a larger conversation about contracts, accountability and the power film bodies wield over actors.

Ranveer's statement on the issue

Through a spokesperson, Ranveer has so far maintained a measured silence. In a statement issued after the FWICE action, the actor said he did not wish to fuel speculation and believed professional disagreements should be resolved privately and respectfully.

"Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect," the statement read.

For now, Don 3 remains stuck in uncertainty. Announced with considerable hype nearly three years ago, the film has spent more time making headlines for off-screen turbulence than actual progress on screen.
