Haryanvi actor Divyanka Sirohi dies at 30 after sudden illness at Ghaziabad home
Haryanvi actor Divyanka Sirohi, known for her work in over 50 music videos, died suddenly at her Ghaziabad home. Her family said she felt unwell before collapsing. The exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
Divyanka Sirohi, a 30-year-old emerging artist in the Haryanvi music industry, died under suspicious circumstances late Tuesday night (April 21). Her health suddenly deteriorated at her home in Rajnagar Extension, where she collapsed and sustained a severe head injury.
The actor was highly active on social media and had approximately 1.3 million followers on Instagram. She featured in over 50 Haryanvi songs and gained widespread recognition with a viral video for Sunanda Sharma's track, Meri Mummy Nu Pasand Ni Tu.
She had collaborated with artists like Masoom Sharma, Amit Saini Rohtakiya, and KD. Her popularity soared after performing live with Masoom Sharma at JCD College in Sirsa. Before venturing into acting, Divyanka also held a job.
According to her family, Divyanka was born on November 19, 1996, in Bulandshahr. Her ancestral village is also located in Bulandshahr, although she was currently residing with her brother and sister in a residential society in Rajnagar Extension, Ghaziabad. Known for her gentle and amiable nature, Divyanka was unmarried and close to her family.
Recounting the incident, the family said that Divyanka appeared normal on Tuesday and had even cooked a meal for her brother. However, she had mentioned feeling slightly unwell. Meanwhile, her brother stepped out to attend to some urgent work. As he was leaving, he sent her a text message asking her to lock the main gate, to which Divyanka replied with a simple "ok."
However, when the family members returned home, they found Divyanka dead. According to her relatives, her body appeared rigid, and slight swelling was also visible. It remains unclear exactly what transpired so suddenly. While a heart attack is being cited as a preliminary suspicion, the actual cause of death has not yet been conclusively established.
Haryanvi performer Manjeet and other artists have expressed deep sorrow over her death.
Her last rites were performed on Wednesday.
