Love, but make it algorithm-approved? Director Vignesh Shivan’s Love Insurance Kompany (LIK) is asking just that, and its newly released trailer is already sparking chatter online. The film explores a futuristic world where relationships are dictated by algorithms rather than emotions.

Starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty, the much-anticipated sci-fi romantic drama is backed by actor-producer Nayanthara. The film is set to arrive in theatres on April 10, after a long and winding release journey.

The trailer introduces the Dude actor as a spirited young man who crosses paths with Dheema, played by Krithi, at a rehabilitation centre. Dheema appears deeply dependent on her phone, seeking digital validation over real human connection. What follows is the protagonist’s heartfelt attempt to convince her that love doesn’t need technological approval to exist.

Pradeep brings his trademark energy to the role, while Krithi lends an intriguing, contemporary edge to her character. SJ Suryah adds a layer of unpredictability, and the supporting cast, including Yogi Babu, Seeman, and Gouri Kishan, rounds out the film’s vibrant world.

The road to release, however, hasn’t been smooth. Love Insurance Kompany was initially slated for September 18, 2025, before being pushed to October 17 for the Diwali window. It was later rescheduled to avoid a box office clash with Pradeep’s other film Dude. Subsequent delays saw the film move to December 18, 2025 and then February, with speculation around a Valentine’s Day release that ultimately didn’t materialise.

While Shivan had earlier announced April 3, 2026 as the release date, the film is now officially locked for this Friday, April 10.
