
R Madhavan's GDN gets release date, makers reveal cast and new poster
R. Madhavan's upcoming film, G.D.N., has locked its worldwide release date as the makers unveiled a new poster along with cast details. The biographical drama traces the life and legacy of inventor Gopalswamy Doraiswamy Naidu, known as the Edison of India.

After the success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, R Madhavan is set to return to the screens with his upcoming biographical drama G.D.N. The makers of the film have officially announced its worldwide release date along with a new poster and cast details. G.D.N. is based on the life of visionary inventor and industrialist Gopalswamy Doraiswamy Naidu aka GD Naidu, often hailed as the Edison of India” and promises to showcase his remarkable journey and legacy.
The newly released poster offers a striking glimpse into the world of the film, featuring R Madhavan joining hands and greeting amid a crowd with actors Sathyaraj and Dushara Vijayan by his side, reflecting the scale and intensity of a man whose contributions shaped India’s industrial and technological progress.
The visual also carries the line, “Feared by the British Forgotten by his countrymen,” hinting at the emotional and historical depth the narrative aims to explore.
The makers have shared the poster on social media with the caption, "Vision. Innovation. Legacy. #GDN - inspired by the extraordinary journey of G. D. Naidu. Releasing worldwide on July 17,2026 (sic)."
The poster opens the doors to the larger world of GD Naidu, rooted in innovation, ambition and revolution, revisiting the life of a pioneer whose story remains largely untold on screen.
Directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar, G.D.N. is produced by Varghese Moolan Pictures in association with Tricolour Films and will release as a multilingual film in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
The film features a major ensemble cast including Jayaram, Sathyaraj, Priyamani, Dushara Vijayan, Thambi Ramaiah, Vinay Rai, and Yogi Babu.
The film is set to release in theatres worldwide on July 17.
