Yash likens Toxic to Oscar-winning film Sinners. Check out the parallel he draws
Kannada star Yash awaits the release of his next film Toxic. In an interview, he called the premise unique and layered, likening it to the Oscar-winning Hollywood film Sinners.

Yash, the Kannada star, has expressed excitement about his upcoming film, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, which he describes as unique and original, akin to the Oscar-winning Hollywood film Sinners. Despite containing commercial elements, Yash believes the film stands out due to its layered storytelling and unique approach.
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is highly anticipated as it marks Yash's return to the big screen after a four-year hiatus, with the film set to release in theatres on June 4.
During a conversation on The Movie Report's YouTube channel, Yash and producer Namit Malhotra discussed their shared vision of showcasing talent and storytelling on an international platform.
Yash mentioned, "Toxic is another unique film, and I think it also has a similar ambition [like Ramayana]. Both Namit and I have similar visions to showcase our talent and storytelling on an international platform, and Toxic also started with that intent."
Yash further elaborated on the film's distinctive nature, noting that while it might appear as a gangster film at first glance, it delves into a person's dilemmas and darker sides through metaphors, making it unique.
The KGF star added, "On the surface, Toxic might look like a gangster film, but it is very layered. It is something where one understands a person's dilemmas and dark side in a very unsual way. Most of the things are told through metaphors and that is what is unique about the story."
Comparing Toxic to the film Sinners, which received significant acclaim and Oscar nominations, Yash hopes that audiences will find Toxic to be an original and refreshing experience.
"It is a unique, large-scale action film. It is something like Sinners, which was also unique and interesting and people accepted it and enjoyed it," Yash said.
He emphasised the film's large-scale action and the collaboration of well-known stars from different industries, including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria, under the direction of Geetu Mohandas.
Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler, made history with its 16 Oscar nominations, with Michael B Jordan winning Best Actor for his dual role. The film's success illustrates the potential for unique storytelling to captivate audiences, a goal Yash aims to achieve with Toxic.
