Let's be honest, the hikes are inevitable given the surge in global crude prices. But two nagging questions remain. Are fuel prices being dictated by market conditions or by election calendars? Because if so, why were fuel prices not hiked in the months of March and April? And secondly, and this question will continue to be asked, why was the benefit of low global crude prices never passed on to us, the middle class consumers of this country? Net, net, whoever is in power at the centre or the states needs to show greater transparency when it comes to fuel prices. Think about it.
