How Cyclone Yaas Exposed Corruption in Jharkhand

Abridge over Kanchi river, which connects Bundu with Tamar near Ranchi, collapsed on due to Cyclone Yaas-triggered heavy rainfall. No casualty has been reported in the incident so far.

The bridge over river Kanchi was worth Rs 13 crore and was constructed two years ago by the Rural Development Department Special Division.

According to locals, regulations were not followed during the construction of the bridge which led to its collapse within two years of inauguration. They also said the primary reason behind the collapse is the illegal sand mining taking place around the riverbed. Watch to know more.
