US tests 'doomsday' missile, Minuteman III, amid Iran war, Finland President exclusive, more

The United States has test-fired an unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile dubbed the Doomsday Missile, and this amidst the escalating tensions in West Asia. A United States submarine torpedoed and sank the Iranian frigate Iris Dana in the Indian Ocean, approximately 20 nautical miles off the coast of Galle, Sri Lanka. The attack, confirmed by the Pentagon, is part of a wider US naval campaign against Iran and resulted in an estimated 80-87 fatalities out of a crew of 180. In response to a distress call on March 4, 2026, the Indian Navy launched a significant search and rescue operation, deploying a long-range maritime patrol aircraft, INS Tarangini, and INS Ikshak to assist Sri Lankan naval efforts.
