A political war has erupted between the state government and BJP over actor Kangana Ranaut and her recent statements about Maharashtra and Mumbai Police.

Kangana Ranaut has become the centre of a political storm taking over Maharashtra. While the ruling Shiv Sena is going all out against the actor for her remarks on Mumbai Police, the BJP has been highlighting the need for her safety as she takes on "Bollywood drug nexus".

Meanwhile, in an apparent jibe at Kangana over her "Mumbai feels like PoK" comments, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday said some people don't have gratitude for the city where they earn their livelihood.

Video: Vijay takes oath as Tamil Nadu CM amid loud cheers and chants

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders. Eight other TVK leaders were sworn in besides him, as ministers in the new government. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended the ceremony.
