Kamal Nath calls BJP leader 'item', BJP holds silent protest

Congress leader and former MP CM Kamal Nath sparked a furore after he used the word 'item' for a BJP leader while campaigning for bypolls scheduled for November 3rd in Madhya Pradesh Assembly.

The BJP candidate Imarti Devi against whom the comment was made has asked Sonia Gandhi to suspend leaders who do not respect women.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan and other BJP workers are on a silent protest to condemn Kamal Nath's remark.

The National Commission for Women has also stepped in. It has sought an explanation from the Congress leader.
