IPL 2026: Shubman Gill unhappy with Gujarat Titans despite big win vs CSK
Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill was not happy with his team despite a big win against Chennai Super Kings. Gill said that the team needed to close out innings better with the ball.
Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill was critical of his team despite their big win over Chennai Super Kings on Sunday, April 26. Speaking after the game, Shubman said that Gujarat have found it difficult to close games well, despite starting strongly with the ball.
The Titans snapped their two-match losing streak in Chennai, chasing down 159 runs in just 16.4 overs. The credit for the win went to the bowlers, who had CSK reeling in the first innings with a destructive spell in the first 10 overs.

Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj gave the team a sensational start, picking up three wickets in the powerplay. At the 10-over mark, CSK had just 43 runs on the board.
However, GT did not finish their bowling innings well. Ruturaj Gaikwad dug deep and took CSK to a fighting total of 158 runs, which later proved to be not enough anyway.
"Very happy to get a win like that in this part of India. Apart from the last four or five overs, it was a complete performance," Gill said at the post-match presentation.
"If I have to be critical, finishing an innings has been a problem. We need to do better in that."
With the win, GT arrested their two-match losing streak. They had fallen to difficult losses against Mumbai and Bengaluru, but hit back on Sunday against Ruturaj's Chennai.
Sai Sudharsan anchored the GT innings with a fine knock of 87 runs, helping the side chase down the target in 16.4 overs. Gujarat will now travel back home for two games, where they face RCB and Punjab Kings, two of the best teams in the tournament.
