Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the IPL 2026 match between Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders.
00:19 IST:
End of a cracker - Phew! That's it from a rollercoaster of a game, where Kolkata Knight Riders held their nerve to snatch a win from Lucknow Super Giants and also move up to 8th position, sending LSG to the bottom. The action now shifts to Delhi, where the Delhi Capitals take on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on 27th April, Monday. The match begins at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT), and as always, you can join us early for all the build-up. Until then, cheers and goodbye!00:37 IST:
PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Undoubtedly, Rinku Singh wins the award for his incredible all-around effort. With the bat, he scored an unbeaten 83 off 51 and also took 5 catches (this includes one in the Super Over). He says that he was looking to just take the game deep and keep rotating the strike and find the odd boundaries, as this is what his role is. Rinku mentions that going after Digvesh Singh in the last over was not calculated, as he was just looking to the game deep and cut loose in the last over. On his stunning relay catch, Rinku shares that he has loved fielding since he was a child. Adds that the hard work he has put in his fitness has paid off. As for the catch itself, he admits he was not ready for it initially, but Powell threw the ball towards him and he just ran in and took it.00:22 IST:
The victorious skipper of Kolkata Knight Riders - Ajinkya Rahane says the nerves are finally settled. He singles out the passage after the 16th over as the turning point, with Rinku's innings standing out for him. He is very impressed with the way they (KKR) seized the momentum in the final phase. On the target, Rahane draws on experience at this ground from the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Says that the soil felt familiar, and they had a sense that 160 to 170 would be a competitive total. Admits that the Powerplay with the bat was poor, and that is something they need to address. But defending 156, he adds, is always more manageable when the bowling unit performs the way it did. On the chase, he is clear that the game was never over. Credits Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy, and also reserves special praise for Anukul, who kept KKR in it, and says they always believed one wicket would change everything. On handing the ball to Narine in the Super Over, Rahane says he was always the first choice. Says he (Narine) has been bowling fantastically, and asking batters to hit spinners to the longer side was never going to be straightforward at this venue. He also singles out Kartik Tyagi for his confidence and clarity, and Anukul Roy for his Powerplay bowling. Also praises Arora and adds that these Indian players are doing very well. Beyond that, he stresses, it comes down to clarity and the way you execute. On managing the bowlers under pressure, Rahane acknowledges it is challenging but says you have to stay in the moment, assess who is batting and what the run rate demands. Details that using the longer boundary to their benefit was part of the plan00:04 IST:
Presentation Time...00:37 IST:
The hero of the Super Over speaks - Sunil Narine, on bowling Super Overs, says he does not think he has much of a choice. Adds when you bowl well in tough situations, you get asked to do it again. He admits it is never easy, but says bowling the first innings of a Super Over is always a little simpler than coming in second. Narine mentions that he isn't a one who celebrates over the top and just likes to keep it simple. On that delivery to dismiss Pooran in the Super Over, Narine says it is right up there among his best. Mentions that the situation made it feel a little more special. He admits he has been struggling and says games like this are exactly what he needs to find some momentum. He admits that the journey ahead is going to be tough, but stresses taking one game at a time. On the nerves during Tyagi's final over, Narine admits that bowling the last over to defend a total is never straightforward, regardless of who is at the crease or who is bowling. He says Tyagi has bowled well all season and sees this as a learning curve for him. On whether it was obvious he would bowl the Super Over, Narine says the entire team backed him, and says he simply had no problem with that.00:05 IST:
The captain of Lucknow Super Giants - On the defeat, Rishabh Pant admits that the team needs a break and a chance to refresh. Accepts the pressure is always going to be there, he says, but the answers have to come from within. Mentions it cannot rest on one or two players and stresses that everyone has to take responsibility. On sending Pooran out for the Super Over, Pant shares the there was a long discussion and Nicky P was the name that came up. Says he may not be in the form of his life right now, but you have to trust your players and stay positive. Adds there may not be many positives to take at the moment, but he is confident they will surface after the break. On giving Digvesh Singh the final over, Pant says there are always moments in cricket where a bowler has to step up and bowl a hard over. Adds that he had been waiting for a wicket to fall in the middle overs to bring Digvesh into the attack, but it never came. Too many minds in the mix, he adds, does not make those decisions any easier.00:21 IST:
Narine seals it after mayhem - Kolkata Knight Riders were spot on in the field while defending the total, with Vaibhav Arora striking early and the bowlers doing well to choke the flow of runs and build pressure. Cameron Green provided a crucial breakthrough in the middle overs to turn the tide, while Varun chipped in with a couple and Narine removed the key man Pant. Arora returned well at the death to finish with two wickets, but the final over turned into a rollercoaster. Tyagi, trusted with the ball, saw things slip with two costly waist-high No-Balls, recovered to make it 7 off 1, but then conceded a six. The call to go with Narine in the Super Over proved spot on as he gave away just 1 run while picking up two wickets to seal it. And through it all, Rinku Singh's presence was unmissable - five catches, including one in the Super Over, and he fittingly finished it off with the bat as well.00:20 IST:
The tale of two heroes - Earlier in the game, Kolkata Knight Riders battled their way to a fighting yet below-par score at this venue. Rinku Singh stood tall amid the chaos - from a dire 93/7, he dragged them to 155/7 with a stunning 83* off 51, his career-best in the format, while Green's little cameo in the middle proved vital. But the first half belonged entirely to Mohsin Khan, whose superb five-wicket haul put LSG on top. Prince Yadav impressed again, and Linde chipped in with a wicket, though Digvesh Singh leaked 26 runs in the final over as Rinku smashed him for four sixes, handing the visitors an outside chance.00:20 IST:
LSG falter at the finish - Lucknow needed a solid Powerplay start but lost Marsh early and never quite got going. Pant and Markram steadied things with a 57-run stand, but once Markram fell, the innings unraveled dramatically from 78/2 to 120/6. Badoni played a crucial cameo and Himmat Singh chipped in to keep hopes alive, but wickets kept falling at the wrong time. The final over was pure chaos - Himmat fell with 8 needed off 4, and just when the game looked done with 7 required off 2, Shami smashed a six to force a Super Over. However, LSG could manage only 1 run there, which was never going to be enough.00:19 IST:
Rinku runs the show - You could simply call this game - Rinku Singh against Lucknow! He was everywhere, with the bat, in the field, and fittingly hit the winning runs in the Super Over as well. Kolkata Knight Riders have flipped the script on Lucknow Super Giants, avenging their previous defeat in a game packed with drama, twists, and plenty of chaos. One team had to lose here, and LSG did have their moments but just couldn’t deliver when it mattered most; you do feel for them as they still remain winless at home.23:48 IST:
0.1: Prince Yadav to Rinku Singh, FOUR! How poetic! It had to be Rinku Singh. Fair to say, it was Rinku vs LSG tonight. The Super Giants trudge off with another home defeat. Prince Yadav bowls full and wide outside the off stump. Rinku leans forward, opens the bat face and drives it away to the deep backward point fence to seal the deal for his team. KKR BEAT LSG IN THE SUPER OVER!23:47 IST:
Back for the chase! The players are already out in the middle now. Rinku Singh and Rovman Powell are the two batters for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Prince Yadav has the ball in his hand. Here we go...23:44 IST:
Just three balls, that's all Sunil Narine needed to pick up two wickets, and KKR now need just 2 runs to win. It's the lowest total in a Super Over in IPL history now. That's why experience matters in such a crucial situation. Surely, Kolkata has this in the bag now, unless there are even more twists.23:42 IST:
0.3: Sunil Narine to Aiden Markram, OUT! TAKEN! Rinku Singh once again. You place him anywhere on the park, the ball will follow him and he won't drop. On a length outside off. Markram rocks back and tries to muscle it over long on but picks out Rovman Powell, who is sprinting to his left. Powell takes the catch and immediately realises his momentum will carry him over the rope. He hurls it away to Rinku Singh, who charges to his right from long off and takes it neatly. Narine, with all his vast experience and wizardry, has bundled LSG in the span of just 3 balls in the Super Over. Remember the maiden he bowled in a Super Over in the CPL a few years back? The old fox has done it again, conceding just one run, pulling every trick out of the bag for his side. KKR need just 2 runs to win this game. 23:40 IST:
0.2: Sunil Narine to Rishabh Pant, Slightly short, outside off, Pant comes down the track and slaps it to deep point for a single only.23:40 IST:
Sunil Narine gets the better of Nicholas Pooran yet again in a Super Over. Rishabh Pant walks out to bat now.23:39 IST:
0.1: Sunil Narine to Nicholas Pooran, OUT! BOWLED! In the battle of the two Trinidadians, Narine wins the duel by outfoxing one of the most dangerous T20 batters. Tossed up with the flight, around middle and leg. It grips and turns across the batter. Pooran gets down on one knee and looks to slog sweep, but gets beaten on the inside edge and the ball rattles into the stumps. Pooran has a slow walk back into the dugout. Just shows how cruel this game can be. Pooran can feel it.23:37 IST:
We are all set now! Lucknow Super Giants are sending Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran to bat. Ajinkya Rahane has taken a big call and is going with spin, as Sunil Narine will bowl the Super Over. Pooran will take strike. Let's take you back to CPL 2014, when these two faced each other in the Super Over, and Narine bowled a maiden. What will happen here? Let's see.23:36 IST:
With Lucknow having batted second in the regulation game, they will now bat first in the Super Over. Plenty of chatter in the LSG camp as they decide on their three batters, while Dwayne Bravo is in deep conversation with Ajinkya Rahane over who will take the ball for this Super Over.23:32 IST:
Would you believe it? Mohammad Shami has taken this game into a Super Over with a last-ball six! Kolkata Knight Riders were almost home, but that's exactly why this league is so unpredictable. The final over was packed with drama, but those two costly No-Balls have hurt Kolkata badly. Tyagi did well to recover, but just couldn’t finish the job. LSG will feel the momentum is firmly with them now, while KKR look a bit deflated and will need to regroup quickly. Score 155/8

23:28 IST:
19.6: Kartik Tyagi to Mohammad Shami, SIX! SHAMI GOES BIG AND CLEARS THE FENCE! Oh, Shami, what are you made of? He unfurls a clean hit to keep his side well and truly alive by the barest of margins. Kartik misses his length and lands it right into the slot, on the off stump. Shami has a free-flowing swing at it. Clears the front leg to make room for himself. Generates enough power by getting under it and pumps it over the long off fence for a cracking six. We are going into the Super Over. Absolute scenes at the Ekana Stadium as KKR have been left shell-shocked. Not a 200-plus game, not a belter of a wicket by any stretch of imagination, but still, we have witnessed a classic IPL low-scoring thriller. Highly entertaining stuff.23:27 IST:
19.5: Kartik Tyagi to Mohammad Shami, Big swing and a miss! Length ball, wide outside off. Shami stays put and has a swing at it but misses, and it goes through to the keeper. Right, 7 needed off the final delivery. A six for the Super Over.23:27 IST:
7 from 2 needed. Still, all three results are possible but LSG need the next one to go to a boundary here.23:26 IST:
19.4: Kartik Tyagi to Prince Yadav, Slower bouncer, following the batter as Prince shuffles far outside off. Prince attempts to scoop it over short fine leg, but does not connect. Tim Seifert fumbles to gather it cleanly behind the stumps and the batters cross over for a bye. By the time Seifert's throw reaches the bowling end, Prince is home comfortably. Had Seifert aimed at the stumps at the batting end, Shami could have been in trouble.23:26 IST:
Twist after twist and this game is still not finished. Not sure which camp you would like to be in at this moment. Prince Yadav comes out to the middle now.23:24 IST:
19.3: Kartik Tyagi to Himmat Singh, OUT! HIT STRAIGHT TO THE FIELDER! Guess who's the man in the deep. It's Rinku Singh. He can even walk on water today. The tables turn yet again as this game refuses to settle. Back of a length outside off. Himmat goes back in the crease and pulls it towards deep backward square, but Rinku Singh is stationed right there. He barely has to move forward, settles underneath it comfortably and takes the catch. LSG are 148/8, needing 8 runs from 3 balls.23:23 IST:
19.2: Kartik Tyagi to Himmat Singh, FOUR! Himmat Singh is playing a gem of a knock for his side. Kartik goes short and slow into the pitch, over the top of off. Himmat Singh stands deep in his crease and hammers it with a pull shot over square leg for a boundary. LSG need 8 from 4 balls. Kartik is under tremendous pressure. Tensed faces in the visitors' dugout.23:24 IST:
Well, Kartik Tyagi will have to go off now. Hang on! The umpires get together and decide that the second waist-height full toss was not dangerous, so Tyagi is allowed to bowl.23:20 IST:
19.2: Kartik Tyagi to Himmat Singh, Oh..no! Is that another No Ball for height? Looks like it. Kartik Tyagi once again bowls a high full toss, on off. Himmat Singh connects this time but gets more height on it. It flies towards long on, where Rovman Powell grabs it and quickly releases the throw back, but cannot stop the second run. Kartik Tyagi asks his skipper to take the review for the No Ball. The Ball Tracking comes up and shows that the ball is well above the waist of the batter. The on-field calls stay. It will be another Free Hit.23:18 IST:
19.2: Kartik Tyagi to Himmat Singh, NO BALL! Dear me, that's a hostile beamer. Kartik misses his radar completely and slips in a wild full toss on off stump. Himmat does well to get the bat on it and protect himself in evasive action. It comes off the splice and drops into the short mid-wicket region. Free Hit coming up... 23:17 IST:
19.1: Kartik Tyagi to Mohammad Shami, Back of a length, slower one, outside off. Shami misses to play the square cut on the off side and the ball bounces behind to the keeper, but Seifert fails to collect it cleanly due to the awkward bounce and the batters cross for a bye.23:17 IST:
Last over coming up now. Remember, Kolkata Knight Riders got 26 runs in their last over, and that is what is proving to be the difference between the two sides at the moment. Kartik Tyagi will bowl the final over. Can he defend 16 runs here? All three results still possible.Score 139/7

18.6: Vaibhav Arora to Himmat Singh, FOUR! BLAZED AWAY! Himmat goes deep in the crease and converts the yorker into a half volley. Gets the wrists through it beautifully and hits it up and over backward point for four. 23:14 IST:
18.5: Vaibhav Arora to Mohammad Shami, Pace off bouncer outside the off stump. Shami carves it to deep backward point for a single.23:14 IST:
18.4: Vaibhav Arora to Mohammad Shami, Full toss, wide of off, Mohammad Shami slashes hard at it but misses out to get any sort of connection with the ball. This is touch and go with the height but the umpire keeps his arms down and Shami doesn't send this upstairs as well. 23:13 IST:
18.3: Vaibhav Arora to Mohammad Shami, FOUR! Shami goes down the ground! Vaibhav misses his length, serving up a full toss on the middle stump line. Shami gets on the front foot and lofts it hard down the ground. It just beats Rinku diving to his right at long off.23:12 IST:
18.3: Vaibhav Arora to Mohammad Shami, WIDE! Vaibhav bowls a wide yorker around off but lands this on the other side of the tramline. Wide given as Shami fails to get anything on it. 23:12 IST:
The next batter in is Mohammad Shami. He is no mug with the bat.23:11 IST:
18.2: Vaibhav Arora to George Linde, OUT! EASILY CAUGHT! All going KKR's way now. Full length and pitching outside leg, following Linde with pace on. He makes room and swings down the ground, gets the elevation, but not the distance. He could not get the full swing of the bat, and that proves costly. Rinku rides the long on boundary and takes the catch. He is not dropping those dollies. LSG are 129/7.23:10 IST:
18.1: Vaibhav Arora to Himmat Singh, Full length outside the off stump. Himmat hits it towards long off for a single.23:10 IST:

17.6: Varun Chakaravarthy to George Linde, FOUR! Good attempt by Ramandeep Singh but in vain. On the shorter side and outside off. Linde rocks back and slaps a flat-batted hit over the bowler's head. Ramandeep is racing in from wide long on to his right, gets there and tries to slap the ball back in, but it bounces inside the fence.23:08 IST:
17.5: Varun Chakaravarthy to George Linde, FOUR! A tough chance put down, and worse, it's a four! Short of a length outside off. Linde rocks back and slams it hard over extra cover. Powell is running across from long off, gets to it and throws himself into a dive, managing to get a fingertip on the ball. But he cannot hold on, and it rolls away behind him and the converging deep cover fielder is too far to back it up and the ball rolls into the fence for four.23:07 IST:
17.4: Varun Chakaravarthy to George Linde, Drifts across the off stump, full in length. Linde tries to thrash it behind cover, but misses on the outside edge.23:07 IST:
Is that the game for KKR? They will feel like it, but you can never be sure in this league. George Linde walks out to bat now.23:06 IST:
17.3: Varun Chakaravarthy to Ayush Badoni, OUT! CAUGHT IN THE DEEP! Badoni holes out now and this could be a massive moment in the game. A touch short, on middle and off. Ayush Badoni bends a bit low and tries to pull it over deep mid-wicket, but is cramped up for space and hence cannot generate enough power on the shot. It goes only as far as the fielder stationed in the deep. Anukul Roy at deep mid-wicket bends low as the ball dips on him and takes a finely judged catch. Lucknow Super Giants are 120/6, still requiring 36 runs from 15 balls.23:05 IST:
17.2: Varun Chakaravarthy to Himmat Singh, Full and outside the off stump. Himmat steps forward and drives to long off for a single.23:05 IST:
This could prove to be the game-changing over for either side.23:05 IST:
17.1: Varun Chakaravarthy to Ayush Badoni, From around the stump. Short at 93.9 kph, sliding across the right-hander. Ayush tries to late cut, but gets a thickish outside edge and the ball runs to the left of backward point for a run.Score 118/5

16.4: Kartik Tyagi to Ayush Badoni, Misses out! Fires in a full toss, outside off, Badoni tries to hit it over extra cover, but fails to connect. 23:02 IST:
16.3: Kartik Tyagi to Ayush Badoni, SIX! Audacious stuff from Badoni. A full toss and very wide outside off from Tyagi at pace. Ayush Badoni predetermines and shuffles a long way across the stumps. Sits down on his knee and scoops it comfortably over the deep fine leg fence for a six.23:00 IST:
16.2: Kartik Tyagi to Himmat Singh, Fuller ball, on middle. Himmat drives it to the left of cover for a single.22:59 IST:
16.1: Kartik Tyagi to Himmat Singh, SIX! Oh, what a shot! Kartik bashes the length hard, just outside off. Himmat Singh plays from the crease and scythes it over deep backward point for a cracking six. 46 runs needed from 23 balls.22:59 IST:

However, LSG were in a similar situation, and maybe they can unearth another hero, making his name on the world stage. They still have Ayush Badoni out there, who will hold the key in this chase for them. Kolkata Knight Riders will want to keep chipping in with the wickets and not allow the hosts to get back in the game, as they did in Kolkata. Also, Himmat Singh comes out to the middle now.22:54 IST:

Doesn't get enough power behind the ball and ends up hitting it to the right of Rinku Singh in that region. Rinku runs well to his right and gathers this nice and clean. 10.2: Cameron Green to Aiden Markram, OUT! A SPECTACULAR CATCH! Rinku Singh cannot do anything wrong in this match and one can see how much it means to Cameron Green and KKR. On a fractionally fuller length, on the off stump line. Aiden Markram gets on the front foot and tries to clear the long off fence, but seemingly does not hit it off the middle of the bat. The ball still has the wheels to clear the ropes, but Rinku comes charging across to his right from long off and plucks it. But as soon as he realises that the momentum is taking him over the ropes, he lobs the ball up in the air, balances himself nicely, comes back in the playing area and takes it in the second attempt. The replay shows that no part of his boot is in contact with the ropes while holding the ball. Not the tallest man out there, is Rinku, but he always is a live-wire in the field. Lucknow Super Giants are 65/2 as the dangerous Aiden Markram walks back to the hut.22:26 IST:
Is that a clean grab? If it is, then Rinku Singh has pulled off a blinder here. He looks very confident and the third umpire is called upon. The replay shows that Rinku has kept his foot inside the ropes before releasing the ball and it is a fair catch. Markram has to walk back.22:22 IST:

... THE RUN CHASE ...21:30 IST:
Low-scoring thriller or one-sided affair? Well, the first 20 overs were certainly a bumpy ride, as both teams went through the motions and right now, even though LSG have restricted KKR to a fairly low total, the momentum is with the visitors. Also, Lucknow failed to chase down a very similar target against the Royals in their previous home game, and that will be on the back of their minds. Can Rishabh Pant and LSG break their seven-game winless streak at home? Or will KKR pick up back-to-back wins? We shall find out in due time. Stay tuned as the run chase is up next.21:28 IST:
Let's now hear from LSG's Mohsin Khan - Khan says that a team victory above all else. Mohsin hopes that the batting unit performs well enough to secure a crucial win. Mohsin adds that he feels strong and rejuvenated after an intensive off-season training program with his trainer. Khan credits his successful execution of tactical plans against opposing batters to a strong collaboration with Rishabh Pant. Mohsin reckons that the team conceded a few late runs, but he maintains a confident outlook, believing the current score is manageable and that they will emerge victorious tonight.21:27 IST:
Rinku pulls off another heist - When you take a look at Kolkata's batting scorecard, there are only two players who stand out. The top order had another miserable outing and if you add the controversial run out of Angkrish Raghuvanshi to that, KKR were heading towards a very meek total. Cameron Green did well to show intent and picked up a few boundaries en route to a crucial 34, but it was Rinku Singh who really changed the course of the innings. KKR would have been happy reaching 120-130 runs but Rinku hit an unbeaten 83 off 51 balls to take them over the 150-run mark.21:24 IST:
Mohsin dominates with the ball - Once again, at home, LSG have put on a very fine performance with the ball. However, just like against Rajasthan Royals, they haven't quite managed to put the finishing touches and the last two overs, which yielded 43 runs, could well end up costing them the game. Amidst all the ups and downs, Mohsin Khan was the one who stood tall, picking up a five-wicket haul, the first one of this season and it was his best-ever in the IPL as well. Prince Yadav continued to impress as well and was economical but Mohammad Shami and Digvesh Singh leaked too many runs in the last two overs.21:21 IST:
Momentum shift right at the death - What a knock from Rinku Singh, and what hitting in the final over. He's single-handedly dragged KKR back into the game and this might just end up as a defendable total. Rishabh Pant and the LSG supporters cannot believe what has just happened out there and all the good work is undone.Score 155/7

Rinku shuffles a long way across to the off side to play the sweep shot, but seems to have missed it. Pant fails to gather it behind the stumps, but the ball rolls in his vicinity. Wide is not given. And Rinku sends it upstairs to challenge the on-field decision. Rinku had moved well across his stumps, so the question is whether the ball would still have been down leg from his original stance. The on-field umpire reckons that yes, it would have. Wide not upheld on that count. But UltraEdge shows there is a clear spike as the ball passes the glove. So it is a fair delivery. 26 runs from the last over and KKR finish strongly at 155/7.21:30 IST:
Another review. Wow, it seems like the wide isn't given and Rinku Singh has reviewed it again. At first, everyone just assumed it was a wide call and were gearing up to go again, but the umpire gave it as a fair delivery. The third umpire is called in to have a look. Back to the original pair? It looks like LSG will reset and go back with their designated opening pair of Marsh and Markram, while Badoni might be pushed back into the middle order. Also, they fielded only three overseas players against Rajasthan Royals, but Linde comes in this time, perhaps brought in to exploit the slowish conditions. He could also offer a handy match-up against a KKR batting order that has a lot of right-handers.19:18 IST:
