Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the IPL 2026 match between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Rajasthan Royals at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Wednesday, April 22.

23:48 IST:
The smile is back - After being pensive for the last couple of games, the RR management looks relaxed once again. They have leapt to second spot and would like to take this momentum into their next match against the high-flying Sunrisers Hyderabad as they begin their Jaipur leg of IPL 2026 on Saturday, 25th April, 2026.
23:46 IST:
Getting into a rut - Well, the Lucknow Super Giants are getting into a big hole. With 4 losses in their last 4 games, they are quickly slipping down from the path to the playoffs. They somehow need to fix their issues before their next match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday, 26th April, 2026, at this same venue. They don't have to travel, so they can make use of this rest to introspect.
23:43 IST:
Was looking to bowl slow - For his allround display of an unbeaten 43 (29) with the bat and a frugal 1/29 with the ball, RAVINDRA JADEJA HAS BEEN ADJUDGED THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH.
23:45 IST:
We have got to be better - On being asked about the performance, Riyan Parag says he is very pleased with the win but feels Rajasthan Royals were short with the bat. He believes they should have got to 180, and mentions that even during his partnership with Shimron Hetmyer, they felt they could have pushed for more. About the batting approach, Parag explains that the team assesses the surface as quickly as possible and bats accordingly. He says if it is flat, the batters keep going, and adds that the top order sets the tone, with the middle order not needing to do anything differently. On being asked about the pace attack, Parag says he feels blessed as a captain to have both Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger leading the charge upfront and doing a commendable job. Says for them to bowl 3-3 overs each in the Powerplays just shows how good they are bowling. He adds that while the wicket offered something to the seamers, the team knew the ball would swing in the second innings and feels the way they bowled and fielded was impressive. On being asked about the trend of starting well and losing out in the later stages, Parag says the messaging within the group has been very positive. He shares that he has been going through something personally and says everyone has been understanding and supportive. He signs off saying that if he goes out to bat tomorrow, it is not about personal numbers but about what the team needs, and if they want him to strike at 200 from ball one, he will do exactly that.
23:41 IST:
Keep it as simple as possible - Rajasthan Royals' NANDRE BURGER is up for a chat next. He is happy to get back to winning ways. Says that it is always great bowling alongside Jofra Archer. Observes that his batters were probably not quite upto the mark but quickly adds that they will fix it soon.
23:42 IST:
Batting is letting us down - On where did things go wrong, Rishabh Pant admits it is pretty difficult to explain and accepts that their batting is letting them down. He says the team is disappointed but insists they need to find answers from within rather than looking elsewhere. On being asked about the top order's batting approach, Pant agrees that more time could have been taken in the middle overs but is unwilling to make excuses. He includes himself in saying he could have taken the chase deeper.  He is all praise for the bowlers for stepping up, especially after a tough previous game, and calls on the batting group to step up and return the favour. On being asked about the bowling group, Pant says the team wants to focus on the positives despite the disappointment. He reiterates that the answers have to come from within, and expresses confidence in the firepower LSG possess across both batting and bowling. He wraps up saying he believes the side can still turn things around.
23:35 IST:
Out of jail? Ummm... one might say so, for the Rajasthan Royals. They were down and out for the count, at 116/6 after 17 overs. But experience helped them with the bat as Ravindra Jadeja showed the value of spending time on this wicket. His crucial unbeaten 43 which included a 20-run assault in the 20th over on Mayank Yadav proved more than vital. LSG bowled their hearts out but the last 3 overs, or say, just that last over alone hurt them very badly. Unfortunately for them, while Jofra shone for RR, Mayank had a very bad day at the office.
23:32 IST:
Poor batting effort - Former Indian Wall number 2, Cheteshwar Pujara, has no words minced as he openly calls this a poor bowling effort by LSG on air. He bluntly says that 160 was definitely chaseable on this track and the Super Giants just needed to bat smartly, keeping wickets in hand. The first three wickets were literally gifted and even though there were a couple of partnerships from there on, the Giants could never catch up.Also, the batting scorecard sees just three batters in double digits, with 4 of the remaining 7 batters being dismissed for ducks. Mitchell Marsh fought a lone battle, gritting out for his 55, but it is sad to note that no one else crossed even 25.
23:29 IST:
Back to winning ways - In a clash between two good bowling attacks, the side with a better batting lineup emerged victorious. Both teams were at a similar stage near the 16th over. But RR's batting depth and also, that tactical call to bring in Shubham Dubey as an impact batter, worked wonders. It could have gone either way, with Parag forced to use only 4 proper bowlers with Brijesh Sharma yet to prove himself in this season. Luckily for them, it paid off. The RR bowlers made full use of the Powerplay, with the steam of Archer and Burger knocking off 3 wickets in the first 17 balls. After that, though they struggled to keep picking up wickets for a while, they ensured that they did not leak too many boundaries and the required rate was always under check. Jofra Archer was the lwading wicket taker with 3 wickets but it would be unfair to call him the pick of the bowlers alone. Everyone who bowled, including the least experienced Brijesh Sharma, applied pressure and all the 5 bowlers took a wicket at least.
23:24 IST:
How did this happen? Glum faces in the LSG dugout. Where did they lose this? They had the Royals at 116/6 at the end of the 17th over. Leaked 43 runs in the last 3 overs. That's roughly their margin of defeat. Despite the horror show with the bat in the first 3 overs, Mitchell Marsh kept fighting for them, taking them to 91/4 in the 15th over, needing 69 runs from 33 balls. They lost 6/28 in 22 balls. A difficult pill to digest.

BowlerJofra Archer 4-1-20-3
23:14 IST:
17.6: Jofra Archer to Mohsin Khan, OUT! BOWLED! That ends the story. The visitors have reigned supreme at the Ekana and RAJASTHAN ROYALS HAVE WON BY 40 RUNS. Mohsin kept on giving the invitation to Archer to target the stumps and on the third occasion, the bowler did not miss his target. This time, the ball is full and straight and Mohsin misses his drive. The ball goes through and crashes into the stumps. With this, JOFRA ARCHER HAS BECOME THE ALL-TIME LEADING WICKET TAKER FOR RAJASTHAN ROYALS. He became the leading wicket taker for RR in the IPL when he dismissed Mayank Yadav and with this last scalp, taken into account the Champions League as well, knocking Shane Watson off his perch.
23:13 IST:
17.5: Jofra Archer to Mohsin Khan, Once again, Mohsin shows all his stumps, backing away to the leg side and gets followed. The line is full and outside leg and the batter drives it back to the bowler.
23:13 IST:
17.4: Jofra Archer to Mohsin Khan, On a length, pretty straight, from around the wicket, Mohsin Khan backs away and pushes it towards mid off.
23:13 IST:
MOHSIN KHAN is the last batter in, replacing Mayank Yadav.
23:11 IST:
17.3: Jofra Archer to Mayank Yadav, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Stunning piece of glove work from Jurel. Good length on middle, and Mayank is all at sea. Stuck on the leg side, he prods tentatively, opens the face and looks to guide it away. The ball takes the outside edge and darts to the right of the keeper. Jurel reads it early, dives full stretch to his right and scoops it up one-handed in his right glove, barely off the ground. LSG are 119/9, needing 41 runs from 15 balls.
23:10 IST:
17.2: Jofra Archer to Mayank Yadav, FOUR! Runs away through the gap! Fractionally fuller, around off. Mayank stays put and leg side of the ball, and cuts it late to the left of deep backward point for a boundary. Deep third, who is stationed a lot finer, stands no chance to cut it off.
23:09 IST:
17.1: Jofra Archer to Digvesh Singh, Spot on bumper, on off. Digvesh arches back, opens the bat face and runs it to the left of deep third for a single.
23:09 IST:
Jofra Archer returns. 3-1-15-1 so far.

23:07 IST:
16.5: Brijesh Sharma to Mayank Yadav, Full and outside off, pace off, Mayank Yadav looks to drive but gets an outside edge to short third.
23:06 IST:
16.4: Brijesh Sharma to Digvesh Singh, Another fine yorker, around off, Digvesh Singh somehow manages to sig it out, eking an inside edge down to fine leg for a single.
23:06 IST:
This is ending all too quickly. DIGVESH SINGH walks in next, at number 10, replacing Mohammad Shami.
23:05 IST:
16.3: Brijesh Sharma to Mohammad Shami, OUT! FLATTENS THE LEG STUMP! A ripper of a delivery from Sharma which puts RR in touching distance of a win. A ballistic yorker at 136.4 kph, angling into the leg stump. Shami stays rooted, looks to whip it over mid-wicket, but the bat comes down far too late. The ball sneaks past the inside edge and uproots the leg stump. Wicket number 2 from Brijesh Sharma. LSG are 113/8, needing 47 runs from 21 balls.
23:04 IST:
16.2: Brijesh Sharma to Mayank Yadav, Short of a length outside off, angling in to Mayank Yadav, who rocks back and opens the face to run it down to deep third for a single.
23:04 IST:
16.2: Brijesh Sharma to Mayank Yadav, WIDE! A little too straightish, short down leg. Mayank gets inside the line to leave.
23:03 IST:
The long tail is exposed now. Mayank Yadav walks in next, at number 9, replacing Mukul Choudhary.
23:03 IST:
16.1: Brijesh Sharma to Mukul Choudhary, OUT! CAUGHT SPECTACULARLY! Just the wicket RR needed. They will feel that this is their game to lose now with Mukul, the last threat also dismissed. A well-executed short delivery by Brijesh, on top of off and climbing further after pitching. Mukul Choudhary is tucked up for room to play the pull shot across the line, but gets it high on the bat and sliced towards extra cover. The ball dips on Riyan Parag but the skipper dives forward and scoops the ball just inches above the ground.
23:02 IST:
Brijesh Sharma is back on. 2-0-15-0 so far.

15.6: Nandre Burger to Mohammad Shami, SIX! WINGS DEPLOYED! Where did that come from? The golf course, I guess. Plenty of cricketers play golf these days and this shot represented one of those clean swings. Burger goes pace off once again, landing it short, around middle, this time Shami is ready, waits for it and swings it cleanly over deep mid-wicket! 12 runs from the over but the big wicket of Marsh as well, Nandre Burger ends with bowling figures of 4-0-27-2.
23:00 IST:
15.5: Nandre Burger to Mohammad Shami, Pace off again, on a length, outside off, angling away, Shami pushes loosely again, only to miss this time.
22:59 IST:
15.4: Nandre Burger to Mohammad Shami, NEARLY GONE FIRST BALL! Off cutter, outside off, on a length, Mohammad Shami plays a loose shot, away from  his body and nearly spoons a catch towards mid off. The ball lands just short of the fielder.
22:59 IST:
LUCKNOW SUPER GIANTS' STRATEGIC TIMEOUT. Things have gotten tricky again for the Giants. In fact, all of a sudden, Jadeja's unbeaten 43 is proving to be more valuable than Marsh's 55. Because LSG have a really long tail and it is all upto Mukul Choudhary now. Interestingly, after 15.3 overs, while LSG are 105/6, RR were 110/5! So there's nothing much to differentiate the two sides as of now. The last 3 overs of the first innings went for 43 runs, with Mayank Yadav conceding 20 alone in the 20th over. How LSG would wish they could halve that now! MOHAMMAD SHAMI walks in next, at number 8, replacing Mitchell Marsh.
22:55 IST:
15.3: Nandre Burger to Mitchell Marsh, OUT! HIGH UP IN THE HEAVENS AND TAKEN! A strong response by Burger and LSG's troubles multiply from hereon. Slower off cutter, full and slanted outside off stump. Mitchell Marsh is a tad early into the shot as he plants his back knee into the pitch to smash it over the infield straight down the ground, but he has to stretch a bit extra to reach for it. He mistimes it by slicing the ball straight up over cover. Riyan Parag gets across with his eyes locked up on the ball and takes a sharp running catch to his right. The Super Giants are 105/6, needing 55 runs from 27 balls.
22:54 IST:
15.2: Nandre Burger to Mitchell Marsh, Fuller length, slower one, outside off. Marsh drives but finds Parag at short extra cover.
22:54 IST:
15.1: Nandre Burger to Mitchell Marsh, SIX! FIFTY FOR MITCHELL MARSH! His first fifty this season and 10th overall in the IPL. He got several good starts this season, but this has come at a very crucial time when his team has needed him the most. Slower one, in the middle of the surface, outside off. Mitchell Marsh throws kitchen sink at it to dump it downtown. Despite the bottom hand coming off the handle, the sheer brute force on the shot helps the ball to go sailing over long off. 100 UP FOR LSG!
22:54 IST:
With Jadeja bowled out, we will have a bowling change from this end. Nandre Burger returns. 3-0-15-1 so far.

22:49 IST:
14.3: Ravi Bishnoi to Himmat Singh, OUT! BOWLED! The missed stumping does not count for much. The googly, outside off, Himmat Singh goes for a big loft down the ground and leaves a massive gate open to allow the ball to see the gap between bat and pad. He misses the ball and it goes right through that gap, to uproot the off stump. Bishnoi brings out the notebook celebration looking at the LSG dugout, sending out a message to his team and ex-mate, Digvesh Singh. The 37-run stand is broken and LSG are 91/5. EQUATION - 69 RUNS, 33 BALLS.

22:45 IST:
13.3: Ravindra Jadeja to Himmat Singh, DHRUV JUREL MISSES A STUMPING. Fired in outside off, Himmat Singh attempts the reverse sweep but misses. In the process, he loses his balance and is out of his crease. But the keeper, Jurel, in his attempt to affect the stumping, fumbles slightly and takes that extra second to whip the bail off. Himmat recovers by then.

Gets the ball on the higher part of the bat and hence, gets a lot more elevation than distance. Long on steadies himself and Donovan Ferreira makes no mistake. The saying goes that, 'Never run on a misfield'. In this case, it is the opposite. Had Ravi not fumbled on the previous ball, Pooran would not have been on strike for this one. RAJASTHAN ROYALS' STRATEGIC TIME OUT. Has the ball becoming older become a worry for the Royals? Or what happened in the Powerplay was just a Jofra-Burger effect? Either ways, the ball has stopped moving and scoring has seemingly gotten easier. Maybe, dew has started to form a bit. Marsh and Pooran have played responsibly to not throw it away and kept their heads down and played the ball, rather than the situation. It will be interesting to see how spin fares. 0.6: Jofra Archer to Ayush Badoni, OUT! AYUSH BADONI IS RUN OUT! An extremely disappointing way to get dismissed. This one kicks up from the deck, on a length, on the leg stump line. Badoni is rushed on the back foot and tries to tuck it to the square leg region but fails to do so. The ball deflects off the thigh pad and rolls into the square leg region and both the batters decide to cross over, but Marsh from halfway down the pitch, sends Badoni back, as he sees Ravi Singh, the sub fielder, charge on the ball quickly. There is a couple of yes and no between the batters and Badoni finds himself in deep waters, too far to retreat back. A simple underarm throw from Ravi to the batting end and Badoni is not even in the frame. Lucknow Super Giants are 9/1, chasing 160 runs.

Archer vs Marsh to kick things off in the chase. A slip in place. Here we go...
21:35 IST:
... THE RUN CHASE ...
21:35 IST:
A middling total, but hard work ahead - 160 is no big a task in modern-day T20 game, but in Lucknow, it makes you earn every run. The Royals have got the dose of that while batting. And they would be keen that their bowling attack, led by Archer and Burger sets the marker early, to crash through the vulnerable LSG top order. The hosts, on the other hand, will aim that they don't botch this up. Should be a fun chase which is on the other side. Please stick around.
21:38 IST:
Quick word with the new PURPLE CAP holder - Prince Yadav of LSG puts the hat on. He is first asked about how he is feeling on wearing that Cap, to which, he humbly replies that it is feeling nice, but will feel better if LSG win this match. On whether he did anything different this season, Prince shakes his head, stating that he has only been sticking to his lines and lengths and backing his yorkers. Adds that he has developed a couple of variations and has been working on those. Murali Kartik then asks about how much is length crucial on red soil - to this, Yadav answers that it is extremely crucial. Because if the ball is pulled back even a bit, boundary hitting gets easier. On what he has learnt from Mohammad Shami, PY says that he has learnt a lot, adding that whenever Shami sees him worried, he runs across and has a chat with him, comforting him and giving him confidence. On the reason for him and Mohsin Khan hunting in pairs, Prince Yadav casually replies, it is only practice, nothing else!
21:30 IST:
Jadeja swings his sword, finally - Ekana's surface played its part too. The ball simply did not come onto the bat, forcing batters to manufacture both power and timing to clear the ropes, and that is never an easy ask on this ground due to big dimensions. Runs just dried up like a desert with an odd boundary here and there. Jadeja and Ferreira dug in the second half to bring some respectability to the total through their 33-run stand, but the latter couldn't hang in there. RR were forced to use their impact sub in Shubham Dubey, who, along with Jadeja, formed the highest partnership to get the Royals past the 150 mark, with Jadeja being the lead scorer, making 43 off 29.
21:28 IST:
The Royals floored early -  The success mantra against the Rajasthan Royals is no secret. Get their top three out quickly and you are halfway there. Tonight, LSG executed it to perfection. It was a battle between one of the best bowling attacks in the Powerplay and the best batting unit in that phase, and this time, the hosts came up trumps. The JaiSoorya duo lasted just 2.5 overs before Shami broke the stand, then turned around and picked up Jurel off the very next delivery. Sooryavanshi could not fire on this occasion, and suddenly the Royals found themselves pegged back at 32/3. Parag began a slight rebuild alongside Hetmyer, but both their dismissals left the middle order again with to reconstruct at 77/5 around the halfway stage.
21:27 IST:
A respectable total? One might think that way, given the Royals being reduced to 110/6 in the 16th over. But the last 4 overs went for 49 runs, giving the visitors some momentum heading back into the dressing room. From the other perspective, at the pitch report, it was mentioned that 153 is the average first inning score this season in Lucknow, so what RR have posted on the board, is just in thereabouts of the par score. But will that be enough to defend? Well they have something at least to fight for rather than not. For LSG, baring the death phase, they were simply outstanding not only with the ball, but in the ground fielding as well. Moshin Khan off all was the pick of the bowlers, with him Shami and Prince picking two apiece, whereas Mayank had an off day on comeback, conceding 56 off his 4 overs.

21:16 IST:
18.5: Prince Yadav to Ravindra Jadeja, A review burnt by the Super Giants, but one understands Pant's motive there. He just wanted some time off. A pinpoint yorker by Prince, aimed at the pads, on the leg stump, seemingly pitched outside leg. Jadeja fails to flick and is hit on the back shin before the ball rolls to the vacant leg slip region. Pant rushes to his right and dives to stop the ball, but while doing so, he bumps the ball around his nose and it is deflected to the deep for a leg bye. He calls for a belated review for LBW. Ball Tracking shows that it has clearly pitched outside leg. But Pant takes the time to have his nose repaired.
21:16 IST:
There is a belated review for LBW against Jadeja. Looked to be pitching outside leg to the naked eye. Comfortably. Pitching outside leg and impact also outside leg. One suspects Pant just wanted some time off or a break, else that was really a bad review. Yes, Murali Kartik on air informs us that Pant had some running repairs to his nose while that review was being checked.

He does connect it but cannot quite get the direction he wanted. He wanted to get it a bit squarer but the extra bounce ends up making him playing a lot finer, straight down the throat of Mohsin Khan at deep third, who makes no mistake. 14.5: Mayank Yadav to Ravindra Jadeja, Massive mixup but LSG mess up. Donovan Ferreira, having been let off on 4, gets another life on 16. On a length, around middle and leg, Ravindra Jadeja worked it through mid-wicket. He called for two and Ferreira responded, charging back. However, Jadeja left him high and dry, backing out of the second run. Ferreira was within hand-shaking distance at that time. The throw came into the keeper, but Rishabh Pant, in his excitement to collect the throw, collided into the stumps and dislodged the bails off. The keeper then went for the second chance as Ferreira was trying to get back. He threw the ball to Mohsin Khan coming in but the latter probably forgot to uproot the stump and dislodged the bails. After a second, he took the stump off, but it was late by then. The bat was in. This was confirmed by the replay after the run out appeal was referred upstairs.
20:53 IST:
Is that a run out? To the naked eye, it seems like the keeper dislodged the bail with his glove without the ball in his hand. It is being referred upstairs. In fact, they are checking for the second attempted run out, with one bail already dislodged. And Mohsin has picked stump off late.

Kingshuk says

Is Mohsin Khan the best uncapped India?

Mohsin Khan, having returned from his injury layover has bowled some sensational spells so far.

With an ability to bowl the heavy bowl, Mohsin uses his extreme intelligence to regularly put batters in trouble.

Consider this, Shimron Hetmyer just flicked Mayank Yadav's 149k ball for a six, and then ended up getting squared up against Mohsin's 139k delivery.

Why is that? It is because Mohsin reads the batter's movements to perfection. Not only does he take wickets, he does not go for a lot of runs as well.

20:32 IST:
What's happened to whom? Oh dear... Rishabh Pant is the player in question again! How does he keep getting hit, inviting accidents? The replay shows the throw coming in from the deep to the keeper. Aiden Markram charged across from long on to his right, picked the ball up and scored a direct hit at the bowler's end. Hetmyer is seen jostling hard while LSG are celebrating, with the run out appeal being referred upstairs. Now, here is the drama on the replay. When the ball hits the stumps, Hetmyer is short of his crease, but when the bails alight, the bat gets in! Saved by the barest of margins. A wide smile crosses his face when NOT OUT flashes on the giant screen but that was a close escape. LSG'S STRATEGIC TIMEOUT. Very surprising that Pant has called for the timeout. With momentum in his team's favour, one might have thought that he would wait till all the 9 overs are done. His bowlers have come out firing and more importantly, Shami has come out firing. This is what experience gives you. The other day, it was Bumrah shutting Gujarat out with the new ball. Today, it has been Shami who has choked the Royals. The ball has just not quite come onto the bat and the Team In Pink are finding it way too difficult to score. They need a partnership here, or maybe, someone to take a punt and do a counterattack. Digvesh Singh comes onto bowl now. So far, his notebook has been stashed safely somewhere this season, despite him picking up wickets.

IPL: Good start for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

Young Vaibhav kicks things off with two boundaries, one on the leg side and one on the off side.

He gives away 13 runs in the second over.

0.6: Mohammad Shami to Yashasvi Jaiswal, Back of a length, outside off, coming right back in. YJ is equally good, waiting for the ball to swing in and then dabbing it to the left of deep third, for a single. Not a single ball faced by his partner in this over.

0.4: Mohammad Shami to Yashasvi Jaiswal, FOUR! Misfield! Could have been a better effort. On a back of a length, on a tight line, but a little bit straight on the pads. Yashasvi Jaiswal uses the pace of the ball and guides it behind, playing it a lot fine to the leg side. Mukul Choudhary from deep fine leg runs and dives to his left, but the ball gets parried off his fingers to the ropes.

LSG vs RR: Early escape for Jaiswal

Mohammed Shami troubles Yashasvi Jaiswal early in the first over. He lands the ball in the middle stump, and zips it back into the left-hander.

Jaiswal is caught in the crease and gets hit on the front pad.

Rishabh Pant reckons that this is going over the stumps and does not review.

Good call that one from Pant.

0.1: Mohammad Shami to Yashasvi Jaiswal, Big shout for LBW, but no review taken. Did that take the inside edge? It definitely pitched in line for sure. Was it doing too much? Nothing on UltraEdge when ball is near the bat. Ball Tracking indicates that it is going over the stumps. Excellent decision by the on-field umpire first up and even better from the fielding side not to review it. Coming to the ball, it landed on a length slightly short of full, swinging in, Jaiswal fell over trying to flick and missed the ball, getting hit on the pads.
19:33 IST:
0.1: Mohammad Shami to Yashasvi Jaiswal, WIDE. Full and down the leg side, Yashasvi Jaiswal misses his flick.

Time for action - The two umpires walk out to the middle, followed by the LSG players and the refined version of the tormentor of many a team in the 90s - that tornado's name was Sanath Jayasuriya. The 2026 version is 'JaiSoorya'. The willows of mass destruction are waiting to fire. Mohammad Shami has the new ball in his hand. Jaiswal to face. A wide first slip, along with a second slip, are awaiting. Here we go...

Overseas players in the impact-sub options? Does look a bit weird. As per the IPL norms, you are not allowed to use any overseas player as an impact sub, if the playing XI has 4 already in it. While LSG can still utilize George Linde or Matthew Breetzke as they have 3 overseas players in their playing XI, the only reason I can think of RR having Lhuan-dre Pretorius in their impact sub options' list is because he is a keeper and can chip in as a substitute, should Jurel suffer any injury. Other than that, he won't be able to do anything else.

I told I am going to lose the toss - Cheeky, aye? Well, that's exactly what Rajasthan Royals' captain, Riyan Parag said, when asked about what would he have done had he won the toss! Adds that he was confused, whether to bat or bowl first on this surface, so is eventually happy that he did not have to take a decision. From past knowledge, Parag says that they had played some domestic games here and the pitch slowed down in the second innings then. Is hoping for more of the same in this clash.  Daren Ganga then gives him a long stat about how RR have actually thrown their wickets away, hinting that maybe, the batters need to respect the conditions. To this, Riyan believes that his side, in general, has batted pretty well. Adds that even in their last game against KKR, they just made a few miscalculations in the middle overs, otherwise the way Jaiswal and Sooryavanshi batted on that difficult track, was admirable. Stresses that the message to the team is that if they play 40 overs of good cricket, they can win. On the team news, the skipper informs that they are going with the same team from their last match.

Need to figure out a way - The skipper of Lucknow Super Giants, RISHABH PANT, says that they have been playing in these conditions and admits that they are still figuring out what's the best combination for them. Stresses on putting the opposition under pressure. Admits that the last few games have been really challenging for them and as players, he adds, they are looking to find ways to get back on track. Pant further tells that they need to figure out a way, just to unwind how they want to play on this surface and that they are not looking it as a disadvantage. Stresses on playing fearless cricket. On discussions ahead of this game, he shares that they have tried to make little changes than massive ones keeping stability in the team. Informs that Digvesh Singh comes in for Manimaran Siddharth.
