The standout moment came in the 16th over when Salt pulled off a breathtaking one-handed catch near the boundary to dismiss Ishan Kishan, who was well set on 80. Sprinting across the ropes, Salt timed his leap to perfection and held on with one hand, stopping what looked like a certain boundary and ending a dangerous innings.

Earlier in the innings, Salt had already made his presence felt with two sharp catches in the deep. He first removed Travis Head in the powerplay, taking a well-judged reverse cup catch at deep backward square leg off Jacob Duffy. Head had attempted a flat pull shot, but Salt judged the trajectory perfectly to complete the dismissal.

He then added another crucial catch to his tally by sending back Heinrich Klaasen off the bowling of Romario Shepherd. Klaasen’s heave went high towards the midwicket boundary, where Salt settled under it and completed the catch while going to ground. The decision was sent upstairs for review due to his proximity to the boundary cushions, but replays confirmed the catch was clean, much to the delight of the home crowd.

Salt’s fielding effort proved vital as SRH recovered from early trouble to post a competitive 201 for nine. Kishan’s aggressive 80 off 38 balls had anchored the innings after SRH were reduced to 29 for three, while contributions from the middle order pushed the total past the 200 mark.

For RCB, Duffy impressed on debut with figures of 3 for 22, while Shepherd chipped in with key breakthroughs.

However, the evening firmly belonged to Salt. His three catches not only removed key SRH batters but also lifted the energy inside the stadium, underlining the value of sharp fielding in a high-scoring contest.
