At around 11:30 am, when officers signalled the car to stop, the driver allegedly sped away instead. In an attempt to evade arrest, he drove recklessly through the narrow lanes of Shimlapuri and near the Dussehra Ground, hitting several vehicles along the way.

During the chase, the car rammed a motorcycle, a 100cc bike, two Activa scooters and an auto-rickshaw, apart from damaging two other parked vehicles. The vehicle eventually went out of control, crashed through the wall of a house and slammed into an electric pole, snapping it in half due to the impact.

The car was left severely damaged after the crash. Police personnel present at the scene quickly apprehended the accused near the Dussehra Ground.

The Station House Officer (SHO) confirmed that the accused was being pursued in connection with a car theft complaint and had damaged multiple vehicles while attempting to flee.

The man has been taken into custody and shifted to the concerned police station. Police said further investigation is underway to determine if others were involved in the theft.

No casualties were reported in the incident, though several vehicles were damaged.
