A woman and her child were saved from a potentially dangerous escalator fall at Jaipur’s Sindhi Camp Metro Station after an on-duty cop intervened just in time to prevent them from hitting the moving steps below.
The incident took place as the woman was ascending the escalator while holding her child. In a sudden loss of balance, she began to fall backward, creating an immediate risk for both of them as the escalator continued to move.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Durga Prasad, who was stationed nearby, noticed the fall unfolding and reacted instantly. He rushed forward and managed to catch both the woman and the child mid-fall, stopping what could have quickly escalated into an injury-causing incident.
CCTV footage of the rescue showed how quickly the situation developed, leaving little to no time for bystanders to respond. Officials mentioned that even a brief delay could have led to serious harm.
