Toshakhana case: Ex-Pakistan PM Imran Khan gets 3-year jail, arrested

Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, has been found guilty in the Toshakhana case and has been sentenced to three years in jail. The PTI chairman has been arrested from his Zaman Park house in Lahore, his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said in a tweet. An Islamabad trial court also barred him from participating in active politics for five years. The 70-year-old politician, also a former cricketer, is accused of profiting from selling expensive state gifts when he was in power. On Friday, Pakistan's Supreme Court dismissed Imran Khan’s plea against trial proceedings observing that the application seeking the transfer of the case to another court was underway in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
