The Kia Seltos has achieved a significant safety milestone, securing a full five-star rating in the latest crash assessments conducted by Bharat NCAP. The popular midsize SUV scored an impressive 31.70 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection (COP), underlining its strong safety credentials.

The Seltos demonstrated robust structural integrity and occupant protection across key crash scenarios. In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the SUV scored 15.70 out of 16, while achieving a perfect 16 out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test. The vehicle also successfully met side pole impact requirements, further reinforcing its crashworthiness.

On the child safety front, the Seltos delivered a comprehensive performance with a full 24/24 score in dynamic testing and 12/12 in child restraint system (CRS) installation. The overall COP score was bolstered by strong compatibility with ISOFIX-mounted child seats, including i-Size compliant systems.

The tested variant was the HTE (O) and GTX trims powered by the 1.5-litre diesel automatic powertrain, with a recorded crash test weight of 1,771 kg. However, the five-star safety rating extends across all variants of the Seltos lineup, as per the Bharat NCAP’s applicability criteria.

In terms of safety equipment, the Seltos comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of features as standard. These include electronic stability control (ESC), seat belt reminders, pedestrian protection systems, and multiple airbags such as front, side chest, and curtain airbags. The SUV also offers ISOFIX anchorages for child seats and a manual airbag cut-off switch.
