Mumbai man arrested for stalking, sexually harassing ex-colleague, sharing obscene pics
According to the woman, the accused got her phone number from an office WhatsApp group. She also alleged that the man would try to convince her to embrace an interfaith relationship with him.

A man working at a private firm has been arrested in Mumbai for allegedly subjecting a female ex-colleague to sexual harassment and stalking. He also sent obscene photos and videos, and sought sexual relations, the woman, aged 19, said.
The complainant used to work at a telecalling company and said that she had never interacted with the accused while she was employed with the organisation.
She has claimed that the man, identified as 24-year-old Ashraf, however, started messaging and calling her after she left the job. According to the woman, the accused got her phone number from their office's WhatsApp group. She said that she received several lewd messages from Ashraf and that the harassment continued despite repeated warnings.
'HINDU WOMEN LIKE MUSLIM MEN'
She also alleged that Ashraf would try to convince her to embrace an interfaith relationship with him. "Nowadays, Hindu women like Muslim men and I have had several Hindu girlfriends," the complainant told India Today TV as she purportedly quoted the accused. The woman also claimed that Ashraf offered to tie Kalava (sacred Hindu thread) on his wrist and accompany her on visits to temples.
The complainant has alleged that the accused similarly harassed two of his friends, but was blocked by them. An official, cited by news agency PTI, said that the man has been arrested under sections 77 (voyeurism), 78 (stalking), 79 (words, gestures, sounds, or acts intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and relevant provisions of the IT Act.
CASE AMID TCS NASHIK CONTROVERSY
The case has surfaced amid the ongoing controversy over alleged sexual harassment and attempts at forced conversion of female employees at a unit of IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Maharashtra's Nashik.
At least nine complainants have so far come forward in the highly sensitive case. Eight arrests have been made so far. The ninth accused, Nida Khan, a telecaller who has also been suspended, is in Mumbai.
