In an exclusive interview with India Today, chairman of the Covid working group Dr NK Arora defended the government's decision to increase the gap between two doses of Covishield from 6-8 weeks to 12-16 weeks.
Arora said that the decision is based on data and fuelled by the motive of increasing the efficacy of the vaccine among the population. He said it was done as a response to vaccine shortage in the country.
Dr Arora also stated that the decision will be revisited in three or four months based on India's own data.
