Administration of precautionary dose of Covid-19 vaccine to healthcare workers, frontline workers and people above the age of 60 with co-morbidities began in India today.
According to the Health Ministry, an estimated 1.05 crore healthcare and 1.9 crore frontline workers, and 2.75 crore comorbid people in the 60 plus age group would be administered the precautionary dose in the coming days.
The health ministry has said there is no need to register for the precautionary vaccine doses. Those eligible can directly take an appointment or walk into any vaccination centre.
The gap between the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine and the third should be at least nine months, the Health Ministry has specified.
