After Western India, second Covid wave now grips Southern states

After Western India, now the second Covid wave has reached the southern states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.

Tamil Nadu reported 21,228 new cases on Tuesday with 144 fatalities taking state's active case load over 1.25 lakh. Situation is not different in Karnataka as well. The state reported 44,631 new cases with 292 deaths. Bengaluru alone has reported 20,870 Covid cases.

With a daily tally of over 20,000 cases over the last two weeks, Kerala currently has over 3.57 lakh active Covid cases.
