Jamui, a significant Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar, is one of the 40 seats in the state and is influenced by the Yadav community. It encompasses six Vidhan Sabha constituencies from three districts - Jamui, Munger, and Sheikhpura. The 2019 Lok Sabha elections witnessed a tight competition between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Grand Alliance. Chirag Paswan of the Lok Janshakti Party emerged victorious with 528,771 votes, defeating Bhudeo Choudhary from the Rashtriya Lok Samta Party, who secured 287,716 votes. The BSP candidate, Upendra Ravidas, came in fourth place, trailing behind NOTA. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Chirag Paswan, transitioning from acting to politics, defeated RJD's Sudhanshu Shekhar Bhaskar by 85,947 votes. JD(U) candidate and former Bihar Vidhan Sabha speaker, Uday Narayan Choudhary, finished third.
