Any contentious matter can be solved through discussion, says RBI Governor

Any issue, no matter how contentious, can be resolved through discussion, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das said Wednesday.

At his first press meet, the new governor was asked if his priority would be to fix the issues between the government and the RBI. "The government is not just a stakeholder...the government of the day rus the economy...and manages major policy decisions. So there has to be a free, fair, objective and very frank discussion between the government and the Reserve Bank of India," Das said.
