Let's be honest, cut the crap, India's criminal justice system is broken. It takes years and years to get justice in our courts.

And as we are seeing in this Unnao rape and murder case, in high profile cases, it becomes even more difficult sometimes, since there are political pressures, be it at the centre, be it at states, including the so-called Central Bureau of Investigation, that adds another dimension to the problem of judicial delays. We talk loudly of beti bachao, beti padao, and then you find a rape victim like this waging a lonely war, struggling to get justice.

There are no quick fix solutions, unfortunately, no silver bullets, because the system is corroded.
