J&K: Mobile phone SMS facility restored, internet services resume in govt hospitals

Broadband internet service was restored in government-run hospitals and SMS facilities were restored on all mobile phones starting at midnight on Tuesday in Kashmir, after over four-and-a-half months of suspension. Internet services, landline and mobile phones were snapped across Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of August 5 -- the day the Modi government announced in Parliament that the region's special status would be scrapped, and that it would be divided into two Union Territories.
