Security cover of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq downgraded

Ahead of Burhan Wani's death Anniversary on 8th of July, the Jammu and Kashmir government has downgraded security personnel assigned to at least 60 persons in Kashmir valley.

At least 250 personnel, who are part of security cover for protected people, have been removed to make a pool for special deployment for the week ahead.

Those whose security has been downgraded is separatist leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. The move comes as a major blow to Mirwaiz, especially with the police also probing his role in the killing of deputy superintendent of police Ayub Pandit.
