The Nationalist Congress Party on Friday claimed that the central probe agencies are targeting party chief Sharad Pawar after a change of guard in Maharashtra. Pawar received an Income Tax notice for his poll affidavits. The NCP questioned the timing of the notice that had been issued to Pawar. Meanwhile, Sena MP Sanjay Raut was also summoned by the ED. Raut is set to appear before the probe agency at 12 noon today.
Rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde was on Thursday sworn in as the 20th chief minister of Maharashtra, while BJP stalwart Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the deputy CM, capping a day of surprises and bringing a dramatic end to the ten-day-old political crisis in the state.
