Day after Shiv Sena claimed to have the support of 170 MLAs, NCP chief Sharad Pawar said he does not know about the figure. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had on Sunday exuded the confidence of his party forming the government in Maharashtra claiming it can count on the support of 170 MLAs in the 288-member Assembly.
Sharad Pawar's statement came minutes after the NCP chief met Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi at her residence to discuss the government formation in Maharashtra. Addressing a press conference after meeting Sonia Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, on being asked about Shiv Sena's claims of having 170 MLAs, said, "I don't know about this 170 figure. You should have asked them."
