Rajnath Singh speaks to ex-Navy officer thrashed by Shiv Sena workers

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday spoke to Madan Sharma, the retired Naval officer who was attacked by Shiv Sena workers in Mumbai. In a tweet on Saturday, Singh said, "Spoke to retired naval officer, Shri Madan Sharma who was attacked by hooligans in Mumbai and enquired about his health."

Six people, including a Shiv Sena shakha pramukh have been arrested by Mumbai Police for assaulting Sharma in Kandivali (east) area allegedly after he shared a cartoon mocking Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. In a video of the incident shared by BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar, the six men can be seen dragging Sharma by the collar before slapping him repeatedly.
