Setback for Manish Sisodia as Supreme Court rejects bail in liquor policy case

The Supreme Court rejected Aam Aadmi Party's Manish Sisodia's bail pleas in corruption and money-laundering cases involving the now-repealed Delhi excise policy on Monday. The top court denied him relief on the grounds that a money trail of Rs 338 crore was "tentatively established" in the case. The court, however, stated that the prosecution has assured that the trial will be concluded within six to eight months

On October 17, a bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and SVN Bhatti, which had reserved its verdict on two separate bail pleas of the former Delhi minister. 

The ED arrested Sisodia in a money-laundering case stemming from the CBI FIR on March 9 after questioning him in the Tihar jail.
